Annual Wistariahurst Gardeners’ Plant Sale Set for May 16

HOLYOKE — Join the Western Massachusetts Master Gardeners and the Wistariahurst Gardeners at their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The gardeners will be sharing the bounty of their gardens with the gardening public. The plants may not be professionally packaged, but the price will be affordable. This year, there will be a large selection of perennials, annuals, vegetables, shrubs, and trees, as well as hanging baskets and containers. The plants are divisions, not cuttings or seedlings, which, while small, will grow quickly to mature size.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own wagons or carts to make carrying purchases more convenient. Master gardeners will be on hand to conduct soil tests for $1 per sample and will be available to answer gardening questions. Parking will be available on the street as well as at the Holyoke Senior Center. The plant sale is free and open to the public.

Mini house tours of Wistariahurst Museum will also take place during the plant sale on betweem 9 a.m. and noon. The cost is $3.
