DESCRIPTION:The Irish Cultural Center of Western New England will hold its annual “Lá na Gaeilge” (Irish Language Day) on Saturday\, May 3 at Elms College in Chicopee\, MA\, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. \nThe program is a unique opportunity to take part in Irish language learning at any level\, from beginner to advanced. As well as two instructional language classes\, the day includes a choice of cultural workshop (tin whistle\, hurling\, or traditional Irish font)\, a raffle\, and traditional Irish music session. Édith de Faoite\, Elms FLTA\, will present a lecture about the Women of the Gaelic Revival. \nThe cost is $50 per person\, $45 for ICC Patrons\, and $15 for students 21 and under; includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. SUMMARY:Bowl for Kids’ Sake
DESCRIPTION:The youth empowerment nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Massachusetts (BBBSWM) invites the public to help fund programs that support kids in Berkshire\, Franklin\, and Hampden counties through the annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) fundraiser. Each of the three events will run from 10 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays: April 19 K&M Bowling in Pittsfield\, April 26 at Shaker Bowl in East Longmeadow\, and May 3 at French King Bowling in Erving. BBBS creates connections between children (‘littles’) with qualified and vetted mentors (‘bigs’) in the community to create fulfilling relationships.
