SUMMARY:Grow Your Own Food-Based Business
DESCRIPTION:There’s a big market out there for your home-made food-based products. Luckily\, there’s also good support in the Pioneer Valley for growing your own food-based business. Food-based businesses are those whose product is processed in some way – cooked\, refrigerated\, frozen\, bottled or canned – prior to sale\, but they’re not as simple to be in as you might think. Scaling recipes\, dealing with food safety issues\, and food production licensing are a few of the hard issues\, not to mention that maybe it’s time to upgrade to a commercial kitchen.\nFortunately\, the Food Processing Center at the Franklin County CDC in Greenfield has been helping people start and grow businesses for a very long time. Join us for this information session with Food Processing Center Director\, Nico Lustig\, to learn about the resources and services to get your name on your label with yummy food inside.

SUMMARY:Keeping Kids Safe Project
DESCRIPTION:The Keeping Kids Safe Project by S.I.P. Kids\, a national child safety organization who tours the country providing free FBI quality digital fingerprints for children\, is coming to Wilbraham to host a free child safety fair. “Police officials say time is crucial in the recovery of missing children. One major problem that costs precious time is gathering current photographs\, fingerprints\, and personal information to assist law enforcement agencies\,” says National Director of S.I.P. Kids\, Lytishya Borglum. \nIn addition to fingerprinting there will be local organizations in attendance. These organizations will be bringing out different activities for the children and all events will be free.\n“As parents\, we have a common passion for helping others keep their children safe and with the help of Balise Ford in Wilbraham\, we are able to do just that\,” says Mrs. Borglum. \nFor more information\, contact the Keeping Kids Safe Project.
