SUMMARY:Emily Dickinson Museum to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Amherst\, MA – The Emily Dickinson Museum will celebrate the completion of the reconstruction of the Carriage House and the reopening of The Evergreens with a ribbon cutting ceremony\, hosted in partnership with the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce and the Amherst Business Improvement District (BID). The ceremony will take place on Tuesday\, May 6th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 280 Main Street in Amherst. \n  \nThe Emily Dickinson Museum has completed the reconstruction of the carriage house that once stood to the east of The Evergreens\, the home of Emily Dickinson’s brother Austin and his wife Susan. Along with reconstructing the historical appearance of the carriage house\, the Museum prioritized sustainability with the goal of achieving passive house certification from the Passive House Institute US\, Inc. It is the first passive commercial building in Amherst\, as well as the first passive museum building and passive historic house reconstruction in the country. \n  \nThe carriage house will initially serve as a site for visitor welcome\, orientation and museum shop\, while also enabling the third and final phase of the Dickinson Homestead restoration. Additionally\, The Evergreens will reopen to the public on May 1st\, after being closed in August 2024 due to the carriage house construction project.  \n  \n“Opening the carriage house is a significant milestone in long-range goals for the Emily Dickinson Museum established more than twenty years ago\,” said Jane Wald\, the Jane and Robert Keiter Family Executive Director of the Emily Dickinson Museum. “By moving some functions into the carriage house\, the Museum can more quickly complete the last phase of restoring Emily Dickinson’s Homestead so that her daily life and literary legacy can be more fully presented and appreciated in the place it was created. Moreover\, we couldn’t be more pleased that this commitment to passive house construction and environmental responsibility reflects Dickinson’s regard for the natural world and the inspiration she drew from it.”  \n  \n“We’re honored to partner with the Emily Dickinson Museum and the Amherst BID in celebrating this important milestone in the museum’s restoration journey\,” said Jacob Robinson\, Executive Director of the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. “The reconstruction of the Carriage House honors the enduring legacy of the Dickinson family in Amherst and reinforces Amherst’s role as a center for literary and cultural tourism.” \n“We’re thrilled to see the carriage house reconstruction completed and to support projects that celebrate our community’s cultural and historic assets\,” said John Page\, Executive Director of the Amherst Business Improvement District. “Events like this highlight the vibrancy of our local partnerships and the exciting momentum in Amherst.” \nEvent Highlights: \n\n\nRibbon-Cutting Ceremony: Celebrate the completion of the reconstruction of the Carriage House and the reopening of The Evergreens with a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the Emily Dickinson Museum. \n\n\nTour The Evergreens: After the ceremony\, join guides from the Emily Dickinson Museum for a tour of The Evergreens. \n\n\n  \nThis event is free and open to the public\, no RSVP required. Find more information here. \n  \nIn addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony on May 6th\, the Emily Dickinson Museum will host their annual Poetry Walk through downtown Amherst on May 10th\, in honor of the 139th anniversary of the poet’s death. This is a free public program. To learn more about Poetry Walk\, visit EmilyDickinsonMuseum.org/poetry-walk-2025/

SUMMARY:DIRTcar 358 Modified Series Opens 2025 Season at Lebanon Valley
DESCRIPTION:WEST LEBANON\, NY (April 16\, 2025) – An 18-year wait ends this weekend. The DIRTcar 358 Modified Series returns to Lebanon Valley Speedway for its first race of the season on Saturday\, April 19. \nDrivers will battle in a 50-lap Feature\, paying $ 5\,000 to win\, in the first visit to the track since 2007. \nThe DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region\, DIRTcar Pro Stocks\, Limited Sportsman\, Street Stocks\, and 4-Cylinders are also on the card. \nFor more on the DIRTcar Northeast\, follow the DIRTcar Facebook page and the Series’ X/(Twitter) page. \nHere are the storylines to watch at Lebanon Valley: \nFirst Time Since 2007: Saturday’s race is the first time in 18 years the Series will battle at the “Valley of Speed” since 2007 when Kenny Tremont scored the victory during the track’s Kings 200 weekend. \nThe only two drivers in that field projected to race this weekend are last year’s Series runner-up Lance Willix and defending Big Block Modified and 358 track champion Andy Bachetti. \nWillix has made two starts at Lebanon Valley but hasn’t been to the track since that 2007 event. The Theresa\, NY driver has two Series wins\, his most recent one coming at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park last year. \nBachetti\, meanwhile\, has gone on to have a storied career at the track in 358 Modifieds and Big Block Modifieds\, collecting 18 track titles and 127 wins between the two divisions. Of those victories are four of his five with the Super DIRTcar Series. \nHollywood Momentum: Defending Series champion Felix Roy gained the upper hand against a few of his DIRTcar 358 Modified Series rivals last weekend by scoring a win during Airborne Park Speedway’s season opener. \nHowever\, Saturday will be the first time the Napierville\, QC driver competes in a 358 Modified at Lebanon Valley. “Hollywood” has made two Super DIRTcar Series starts at the 5/8-mile track\, finishing 15th and 23rd. \nDespite winning the championship last season\, Roy is still searching for his first Series victory. \nChampionship Contenders: Along with Willix and Roy\, there are several significant names aiming to take the 2025 DIRTcar 358 Modified Series crown\, including two Super DIRTcar Series stars. \nMat Williamson\, the 2023 champion\, and Mike Mahaney will be in action Saturday at Lebanon Valley\, but it’ll be their first time competing in a 358 Modified at the track. However\, they do have laps with the Super DIRTcar Series there. \nWilliamson has collected three top five finishes and four top 10s in seven Super DIRTcar Series starts at the track. A win this weekend would be his seventh 358 Modified Series win. \nMahaney has collected a couple of podium finishes with the Super DIRTcar Series at Lebanon – a third in 2018 and a second-place finish in 2023. “Smooth Shoe” is searching for his second DIRTcar 358 Modified Series victory after winning during Malta Massive Weekend at Albany-Saratoga Speedway last Fall. \nHome at the High Banks: Bachetti isn’t the only track regular that Series drivers will contend with this weekend. Joey Coppola\, Kyle Sheldon\, and Brett Haas\, who finished behind Bachetti in the battle for the track championship last season\, will also be on the hunt for the victory. Sheldon and Haas will look to return to Victory Lane after scoring wins last year while Coppola is searching for his first 358 Modified win at the track. \nAll three drivers finished the season with 11 top 10s in 12 races and could grab momentum in their quest for a track championship with a victory this weekend. \n2025 DIRTcar 358 Modified Series Schedule \nSaturday\, April 19\, Lebanon Valley Speedway\, $5\,000-to-win\nSaturday\, April 26\, Fulton Speedway\, $4\,000-to-win\nThursday\, May 22\, Airborne Park Speedway\, $5\,000-to-win\nSunday\, June 22\, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park\, $4\,000-to-win\nWednesday\, July 2\, Can-Am Speedway\, $4\,000-to-win\nSunday\, July 6\, Weedsport Speedway\, $5\,000-to-win\nWednesday\, July 16\, Cornwall Motor Speedway\, $10\,000-to-win (Canadian)\nThursday\, July 17\, Mohawk International Raceway\, $4\,000-to-win\nFriday\, Sept. 19\, Albany Saratoga Speedway\, $4\,000-to-win\nTuesday\, Oct. 7\, Brewerton Speedway\, $4\,000-to-win\nFriday\, Oct. 10\, Oswego Speedway\, $20\,000-to-win\nSaturday\, Oct. 18\, Brockville Ontario Speedway\, $10\,000-to-win (Canadian) \nARTICLE: https://dirtcar.com/dirtcar-ne/358-modifieds/dirtcar-358-modified-series/what-to-watch-for-dirtcar-358-modified-series-opens-2025-season-at-lebanon-valley/\nTRACK INFO: https://www.lebanonvalley.com\nFAN 101: https://about.dirtcar.com/
