MISSION STATEMENT
The Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament is extremely proud to be able to support the work of the world-class researchers at the Dana- Farber Cancer Institute
to reduce and ultimately eliminate the burden of cancer.
UPCOMING EVENT
The 16th annual Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament is slated for Sept. 24, 2024 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament was established by Carla and Tommy Cosenzi as a heartfelt tribute to their father, Tom Cosenzi.
Tom Cosenzi, who sadly succumbed to a glioblastoma brain tumor in 2009, held a passionate vision of finding a cure for brain cancer. Serving as the co-presidents of TommyCar Auto Group, Carla and Tommy have elevated this tournament to become a leading philanthropic event within the Western Mass. auto-dealership community.
Over the past 15 years, this tournament has raised more than $1.6 million in support of Patrick Wen, M.D., and his dedicated team of researchers at the Dana- Farber Cancer Institute. These proceeds play a pivotal role in advancing the field of neuro-oncology. They enable Dana-Farber researchers to design innovative clinical trials for testing and developing targeted therapies, some of which had never been explored for brain tumors. The tournament also facilitates the initiation of multiple clinical trials in immunotherapy and supports groundbreaking basic research that informs new therapeutic approaches.
