MISSION STATEMENT
Way Finders builds and advocates for a thriving and equitable region by improving the stability and economic mobility of families and individuals, together with developing and managing
a wide range of housing to support strong communities.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Way Finders is an affordable housing and community development organization dedicated to bringing home stability to people across Western Mass. We support all aspects of housing — from homelessness to homeownership — and enrich communities, families, and individuals.
We provide emergency shelter to families experiencing homelessness. We house and support young parents and survivors of domestic abuse. We help renters avoid eviction. We build and manage affordable housing in urban, rural, and suburban settings (800 units in 24 developments, and another 400 units in the pipeline). We help people become first-time homebuyers. And we do much more.
Headquartered in Springfield, Way Finders serves all four counties in the region. We collaborate with individuals, towns, and partners to meet housing needs and challenges. To help people stay stably housed and reach their goals in life, we offer education and support, such as with employment and personal finances.
Way Finders also influences policies and advocates for greater resources to help create a more equitable and thriving region. We raise awareness of the regional housing-supply gap — and the need and means to close it. We look at needs from a broad, community-building perspective and address issues (public health, digital equity, public safety) that benefit all.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Contributions to Way Finders from individuals, businesses, and foundations help to fund and enrich our programs and services and help us grow and to meet the region’s needs. As part of the Community Investment Tax Credit program, a state-funded tax rebate that encourages increased and new giving to programs that benefit children, families, and communities, we can offer a 50% match in tax credits for donations of $1,000 or more. Way Finders also provides corporate sponsorship opportunities for
a variety of special events. For more information, contact Director of Development Megan Pete at (413) 233-1740 or [email protected].
