From the
Editor and Publisher
For decades, all of us at BusinessWest have presented this annual Resource Guide — a book of categorized lists, a com- pendium of who’s doing business in the 413 ... but so much
more.
More, because this exercise has spoken over the years to an ever-
evolving business landscape in Western Mass., one that has enjoyed long stretches of economic smooth sailing, but has also battled through times like the Great Recession more than a decade ago and, more recently, a pandemic that brought unprecedented challenges to businesses of all kinds, challenges that continue today.
And yet, as the comprehensive charts on these pages demonstrate, companies in all sectors — from law to construction; from healthcare to technology — are still growing, still opening up and planting roots. In doing so, they’ve learned the meaning of grit and resilience, by fac- ing down hurdles from broken supply chains to soaring inflation to workforce shortages, and they’ve survived, in many cases stronger.
Next year, these lists will change again, reflecting the ever-shifting nature of the economy, especially during a time that’s still so unset- tled — yet still shot through with entrepreneurial promise.
Not every business has survived these trying times, but most have, though, and we celebrate, in this annual Resource Guide, their fortitude and ability to adapt, pivot, and continue to serve their customers.
The nearly 200 or so pages that follow provide information on thousands of businesses, nonprofits, and regional institutions. Together, these detailed charts convey the size, strength, and diversity of this region’s business community. We urge you to make full use of the information this guide contains (it is also available as a flipbook at www.businesswest.com).
Putting together this publication has been a year-long process, and we thank all those involved in making it reality. High praise goes to Art Director Mike Nasuti; Graphic Designer Christine Longhi; researchers Joseph Bednar, Elizabeth Sears, and Cindy Sears; and our entire sales and marketing teams. Special thanks, of course, to our sponsors and advertisers, whose support makes it possible to publish this important — and ever-changing — resource.

Because of your generous
support, the United Way of
Pioneer Valley stands ready to
help families of Hampden Coun-
ty, Granby, and South Hadley during emergencies and every day. We were able to help thousands of our neighbors and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic. We provided 5,000 frozen meals to the Food Bank of Western Mass, provided local food pantries with over 5,000 emergency food boxes containing shelf-stable food, and presented needy children with over 50,000 new toys to ease the boredom of not being in school and around friends. We also delivered our annual Stuff the Bus backpack program serving over 2,600 homeless children.
None of this good work can be accomplished without your generous support. Please help us improve the quality of life in Western Mass by giving today.
