WHO WE ARE AND
WHAT WE DO
For nearly 160 years, the YWCA of Western
Massachusetts has served our region, guided
by its founding principle: to provide shelter,
support services, and tools for self-sufficiency
for those in our community.
Today, the YWCA is a powerful advocate and
champion for families providing a safe haven
for women and children in crisis. We serve
survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence,
stalking, human trafficking, and homelessness.
Serving nearly 12,000 individuals annually,
the YWCA’s trauma-informed, client-centered
approach reduces as many barriers to services
as possible, giving agency back to survivors and
empowering them to become self-sufficient
and financially independent. Additionally, we
help survivors obtain permanent housing and
education, and lead successful and fulfilling
lives.
