MISSION STATEMENT
The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts fuels progress toward gender equity by funding the most promising solutions, collaborating with results-oriented partners, and elevating the collective power of local women to take charge and lead with purpose.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Grantmaking: Building on 27 years of investments, WFWM funds local nonprofits that address economic security, freedom from gender-based violence, and leadership opportunities for women, girls, and gender-diverse people in Western Mass.
Research and Advocacy: WFWM produces accessible local data on gender equity, as in the 2023 Gender Equity in Western Massachusetts report, to shape priorities. The Greater Springfield Women’s Economic Security Hub research focuses on low-income women, including those re-entering from incarceration, to inform equitable regional policies and advocacy.
Young Women’s Initiative (YWI): YWI builds young leaders’ advocacy and leadership skills through social-justice training and participatory grantmaking. Participants in Springfield and Turners Falls gain confidence in addressing barriers in their communities around issues like mental health, education, and safety.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Give: Join our monthly donor program. Small, consistent donations can provide a steady stream of income, which helps us plan and grow sustainably and collectively make a big impact.
Share: Spread the word about our mission with your network through word of mouth, social media, or local events. By spreading awareness, you can help us reach more people and make a greater impact.
Party: Host a Party with a Purpose. You can host a small gathering in your home or favorite bar or restaurant to introduce the Women’s Fund to a broader audience. This helps us connect with new supporters.
Collaborate: Connect us with partners, by encouraging collaborations with local businesses for sponsorships, in-kind donations, or joint events that can expand our reach.
