the Springfield College board of trustees for the 2021-22 aca- demic year. A board of trustees member since 2004, he will lead the governing body of the col- lege, which is responsible for major decisions and changes on campus, and comprises an integral part of the progress and
advancement of the college. Burke was chief operat- ing officer of Newell Brands, a Fortune 200 global marketer of consumer and commercial products with worldwide sales of more than $10 billion. The com- pany has a strong portfolio of well-known brands,

Setty became dean of the School of Law in 2018 and has served on the faculty since 2006. Florence Bank promoted Jen- nifer Halpin to the position
of assistant vice president, Human Resources and affirma- tive action manager at the main office in Florence. Halpin is a seven-year employee of Flor- ence Bank who brings exten- sive knowledge and skills to her new position, in which she will
lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department, including hiring and inter- viewing, payroll administration, benefits, and over- seeing and implementing the bank’s equal-employ- ment opportunity and affirmative-action policies and plans. During her tenure at the bank, she has been the recipient of the President’s Award, which is given to employees who demonstrate superior levels of performance, customer service, and overall contribu- tion to the bank. Halpin holds an associate degree in business administration from Berkshire Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business adminis- tration from UMass Amherst.

Morgan Stanley announced that John Pappas, a
financial advisor in the firm’s Springfield Wealth Man- agement office, has been named to Forbes magazine’s list of Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors. The Forbes list- ing is a select group of individuals who were born in 1981 or later, have a minimum of four years of indus- try experience, and lead — or are viewed as potential leaders of — their teams. The ranking, developed
by Forbes’ partner, SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, weigh- ing factors like revenue trends, assets under manage- ment, compliance records, industry experience, and best practices learned through telephone and in-per- son interviews.

Holyoke Community Col- lege (HCC) recently welcomed Nathan Leveille as its new staff associate of Grants Develop- ment and Management. Lev- eille, an HCC graduate from the class of 2001, returns to the college with more than 15 years of experience in grants development and manage-
ment through his positions at Springfield Technical Community College, where he had worked as grants manager and staff assistant in the Development Office since 2005. He started his position in the office of Resource Development at HCC on Oct. 18. After graduating from HCC with his associate degree in liberal arts, Leveille went on to Westfield State Uni- versity for his bachelor’s degree in mass communi- cation with a concentration in public and corporate communications.

(ABA) Legal Education Police Practices Consortium. The con- sortium aims to contribute to the national effort examining and addressing legal issues in

She defends employers in single-plaintiff and class-action litigation involving claims of dis- crimination, harassment and retaliation, wage and hour violations, contract disputes, and other employ- ment issues. She also advises clients with respect
to compliance challenges, personnel policies, and day-to-day employment issues, and provides cus- tom training programs and materials on a variety
of important topics, including sexual harassment, paid and unpaid leave, and ADA accommodations. Flores has been an invited speaker at educational events sponsored by local chambers of commerce, the Employers Assoc. of the NorthEast, the CMEA Employers Assoc., and other organizations, and has been published in BusinessWest, Massachusetts Law- yers Weekly, and the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Massachusetts Law Review.
