MISSION STATEMENT
The BHN mission is to help individuals, families, and communities improve the quality of lives for those with behavioral-health and developmental challenges.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
BHN’s service provision is grounded in the core values of individual worth and focus of each family or individual it serves. It recognizes program participants as the experts of their lives, needs, and strengths. Serving is not just about clinical treatment, but also about providing opportunities to learn new skills, become employed, and achieve a higher quality of life.
BHN helps people embrace the challenges inherent in having a disability, mental-health issue, or substance-use disorder, guiding them to recognize and develop their strengths as they move into long-term recovery. BHN serves as an employer of choice for many in recovery and those with lived experiences.
People are helped to move forward in their preferred lives by others who have been there, too — those who have overcome their own similar challenges. BHN services help people beyond treatment as they move forward utilizing the skills, knowledge, and achievements gained while in care at BHN.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
BHN welcomes the opportunity to partner with the community to support its programs via private or corporate donations, either one-time or monthly, or via donor bequests.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are welcome to participate in providing financial-literacy training to women in BHN’s domestic- violence program and also participate in its annual Puerto Rican Day parade.
