All That Jazz

An estimated 5,500 people turned out for the inaugural Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival on Aug. 9, an event intended to promote an arts-driven, community-oriented, and sustainable revitalization of the city. The free, outdoor festival, held in Court Square in downtown Springfield, featured locally and internationally acclaimed musical artists and a variety of ethnic cuisines and local food producers.
