Rotary Club of Springfield Elects New President, Board of Directors

SPRINGFIELD — The Rotary Club of Springfield recently elected a new President, John “Jack” Toner, and board of directors for the 2015-16 year.

Toner, sales representative at Sumner and Toner Insurance Agency in Longmeadow, is the 101st president of the Rotary Club of Springfield. Toner joined the club in August 2011. He has chaired the club’s Road Race fund-raiser for the last three years and had previously served on the club’s board of directors until his election to president.

One of Toner’s goals for his tenure as president is to continue the work of past president Rick Lee and tap the potential of the club’s membership, both young and old. Toner believes that “fellowship paves the way for meaningful action in our community through membership engagement.”

The Rotary Club of Springfield meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the MassMutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame. For more information on the club or becoming a member, visit www.springfieldmarotary.org or call Mike Healy, membership chairperson, at (860) 796-1435.
