Basketball Hall of Fame Makes Contribution to Rotary Club

SPRINGFIELD — John Doleva, president and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and Frank Colaccino, a trustee of the Basketball Hall of Fame’s board of directors and committee chair for the 2014 Holiday Showcase/Service Above Self Luncheon committee, recently presented a check for $3,500 to the Rotary Club of Springfield.

The contribution was from the proceeds of the Holiday Showcase/Service Above Self Luncheon held at the Hall of Fame last December. The 2014 Service Above Self award winners were local honorees York Mayo and Bob Perry and national honoree Bob Delaney.

The contribution will be used for the Rotary Club’s service fund grants, which are awarded to Springfield-based, tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations for capital items.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the MassMutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue, Springfield, and is a member of Rotary International. For more information on the Springfield Rotary or becoming a member, contact
