The region’s proud manufacturing sector has lost some of its major players, as well as some of its broad influence on the region’s economy, in recent decades. But this sector remains a force, with many intriguing stories about companies undertaking exciting, often groundbreaking initiatives that are adding jobs and keeping a regional tradition alive.
