Westfield State University Appoints Aaron Aska VP of Administration and Finance

WESTFIELD — Westfield State University has appointed Aaron Aska as vice president of Administration and Finance. He brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in higher education finance, operations, strategic planning, and institutional administration.
Aska joins Westfield State from St. Elizabeth University in Morristown, N.J., where he served as chief operating and fiscal officer. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades at New Jersey City University, holding a series of senior leadership positions and helping guide major institutional initiatives.
“As Westfield State University continues to advance its strategic priorities, Dr. Aska’s extensive experience in financial leadership, operational excellence, and long-term planning will be instrumental in positioning the university for continued success,” President Linda Thompson said.
Throughout his career, Aska has demonstrated expertise in fiscal management, capital planning, strategic resource allocation, and organizational effectiveness. He has overseen complex financial operations, developed innovative public-private partnerships, secured multi-million-dollar grants, and led initiatives that strengthened institutional growth and long-term sustainability.
As vice president of Administration and Finance, Aska will oversee the Westfield State’s financial operations, budgeting, facilities, business services, and administrative functions, providing strategic leadership to support the institution’s mission and financial health.
He earned his doctor of education degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a certified public accountant and has devoted his career to advancing innovation, operational excellence, and student success through sound financial stewardship.
