AGAWAM — Allied Flooring, Paint and Design announced a donation of $3,615.97 to Jenna’s Blessing Bags, made possible through the generosity of customers and the local community during the company’s holiday donation drive.

Throughout the holiday season, collection bins were placed at all three Allied Flooring showroom locations. Customers who donated at least 10 items to support Jenna’s Blessing Bags received 5% off their pre-tax purchase, and Allied Flooring matched the community’s generosity with a 5% monetary donation. The response from the community was overwhelming, with donation bins filling quickly across all locations. As a result, Allied Flooring was able to present a check for $3,615.97 to the organization.

“Seeing our community come together in support of such an important cause was truly inspiring,” said Becky Tedeschi, president of Allied Flooring. “We are grateful to our customers who donated items and helped make this contribution possible.”

Jenna’s Blessing Bags is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals in need by providing essential items and care packages to those facing hardship. AGAWAM — Allied Flooring, Paint and Design and Budget Cabinet Sales recently made donations to two local charities: $10,429.86 to Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts, a Springfield-based program that connects local students with economic-education and financial-literacy programs aimed at setting them up for long-term career and financial success; and $10,429.86 to Gándara Center in Holyoke, which promotes the well-being of African-American and Hispanic people and others through healthcare, prevention, and education.

About 100 players and sponsors gathered for Allied’s first annual charity golf tournament last month at Crestview Country Club in Agawam. Members of the Allied team combined forces with other local businesses and vendors, engaging in friendly and fun competition while feeding a shared passion for charity.

“We believe in giving back to the communities that have supported us over the years,” Allied founder Mario Tedeschi said. “It is a privilege to contribute to such worthy causes and see how we can make a real difference together. Thank you to everyone who played a part in our first golf tournament.”

Through its first annual charity golf tournament, the home-design company surpassed expectations by raising enough money to split evenly between the two organizations.

“A well-balanced company is one that gives back to the community,” Allied President Jorge Morgado said. “We couldn’t be happier with the success of this event. The funds raised will help these two local nonprofits continue their work within the communities we all work and live in.”

Uduak Enyiema, vice president of Fund/Development & Community Relations at Gándara Center, said the organization is deeply grateful. “With Allied Flooring’s contribution, we can continue to provide needed resources and hope to our community, empowering people to overcome challenges and build brighter futures.”

Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts President Amie Miarecki added that “we are so grateful for the incredible efforts by Allied Flooring and Budget Cabinets. It created awareness of JA’s programming and opened up opportunities for partnerships that will benefit the thousands of young people we serve in our region.”

AGAWAM — Allied Flooring, Paint and Design announced it has acquired Budget Cabinet Sales, a locally owned business located adjacent to Allied’s Agawam store, expanding its residential and commercial services and products. The store, located at 300 Main St., will keep its name and be managed by Jill Stefanik, who has been promoted from her position as a sales and design associate at Allied.

The previous owners of Budget Cabinet Sales, the Lloyd family, will remain part of the business, along with the other store employees. While Mario Tedeschi and Jorge Morgado now own both Allied and Budget Cabinet, they will operate them as separate entities.

“We are proud to carry on the Budget Cabinet Sales tradition of providing quality kitchen and bathroom cabinets, countertops, and accessories at affordable prices,” Tedeschi said. “Jorge and I are excited about our new venture and look forward to growing the strong relationships already in place with customers and the community.”

Morgado agreed, noting that “Budget Cabinet Sales was established in 1981, and the Lloyd family and the whole staff have long prided themselves on providing exceptional customer experiences, a tradition we will continue.”

Stefanik added that she is excited to take on her new role as the store manager. “It’s both a natural next step both for me in my career and for Allied as a whole. Adding cabinets to our extensive selection of products truly makes us a one-stop shop for homeowners and contractors.”

Allied Flooring, Paint and Design, located at 350 Main St., offers products including flooring, carpeting, paint and window treatments, and services including carpet cleaning, water damage and flood restoration and repair, and property management. It has a second location at 55 North Main St. in East Longmeadow, which features a design center.

AGAWAM — Allied Flooring, Paint and Design, a home-improvement supplier for homeowners, contractors, and business owners, recently welcomed Jorge Morgado as a partner in the business and president of Sales.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jorge as a partner and to run the sales team,” Allied President Mario Tedeschi said. “Jorge and I spent decades as competitors, respecting and admiring each other’s work. Our relationship strengthened over the last few years when he became our sales representative for Tarkett. I saw how much care and dedication he devotes to his clients; that connection led to us becoming partners.”

Morgado has more than 25 years of experience in the flooring industry, beginning his career in high school and most recently serving as vice president of Residential Business, East Region, for Tarkett, the third-largest flooring manufacturer in the country.

“I’ve always admired Mario and everything he and his family have accomplished with the success of Allied,” Morgado said. “I’ve worked in this business a long time, most recently with Allied as one of my customers. I am drawn to how everyone here not only treats each other like family, but also our customers.”

Morgado graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in business management. He is very involved in the community, currently serving on the board of the East Longmeadow Soccer Assoc.

Morgado says a distinct, life-changing event shifted how he handles not only business, but also the rest of his life.

“I was a part of the Miracle on the Hudson back in 2009,” he said. “It really changed my perspective on life. It instilled in me a renewed passion for people. I want to deliver my best every day to those in my community and to every customer that walks through the door at Allied.”

Tedeschi added that “Jorge has melded right into our family, as our strengths really compliment each other well. In fact, it’s gone so well that his son will be doing the same thing my three children have done — join our team this summer to work on cutting and binding rugs.”
