John Chavis

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that John Chavis has been elevated from systems administrator to director of information technology, and Alayna Anderson has been elevated from marketing coordinator to marketing manager.

Chavis recently celebrated his 21st anniversary with Bacon Wilson in March. Over the past two decades, he has played an integral role in supporting and advancing the firm’s technology infrastructure, helping ensure that its attorneys and staff have the tools they need to serve clients effectively.

Anderson celebrated four years with the firm in May. Since joining Bacon Wilson, she has made a significant impact on the firm’s marketing and social media efforts, strengthening its brand presence and supporting initiatives that connect the firm with clients and communities throughout the region.

HOLYOKE — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced the collaboration and integration of Resnic, Beauregard, Waite and Driscoll, Attorneys at Law, into the firm.

Morgan Harrington

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that Morgan Harrington joined the firm in early March. She will advance her career as an associate attorney in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate department.

Harrington earned her juris doctorate from Western New England University School of Law in 2025 and her bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. Prior to joining Bacon Wilson, she began her legal career as an associate at a local civil litigation firm, where she focused on analyzing and evaluating insurance claims and providing strategic legal guidance on liability, settlement options, and case resolution.

She also served as a law student extern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Springfield, where she conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on criminal law issues, supporting federal prosecutors in ongoing investigations and prosecutions. In addition, she assisted in the preparation of trial materials, including discovery organization.

During her time at Western New England University School of Law, Harrington received several honors, including the CALI Award for Intellectual Property Survey, recognition as runner-up for Best Oral Argument, and Dean’s List distinction. She also served as community outreach coordinator for the Women’s Law Assoc. and worked as a student clinician in the small business practicum. In that role, she provided legal services to local small businesses and micro-enterprises, advising on entity formation, drafting agreements, and addressing employment-related matters. She also conducted preliminary trademark searches, advised on copyright protections, and assisted clients with licensing requirements.

Harrington will primarily work out of Bacon Wilson’s Springfield office, focusing on commercial and corporate real estate and business transactions. She is currently admitted to practice law in the state of Connecticut and is pending admission to the Massachusetts Bar. She is also an active member of the Connecticut Bar Assoc.

Teresa Dupere

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that Teresa Dupere has joined the firm as Title and Real Estate counsel, effective early November 2025. Dupere brings more than 15 years of experience in real estate law and title matters.

Dupere earned her juris doctorate from Western New England University School of Law, completed the paralegal studies program at Elms College, and received her bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences with a minor in biology from UMass Amherst. She has extensive knowledge of residential and commercial real estate title examination and related matters, and will be enhancing the firm’s real estate practice with her expertise.

Prior to joining Bacon Wilson, Dupere worked as a real estate attorney at a local general practice law firm, focusing on comprehensive title searches, reviewing legal documents to confirm the accuracy of title information, preparing title reports and maintaining chain-of-title records, and resolving title defects to ensure clear title prior to closing.

She will work primarily out of Bacon Wilson’s Springfield office, supporting both the firm’s residential and commercial real estate departments.

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that attorneys Timothy Netkovick and Ryan O’Hara have been named shareholders of the firm, effective Jan. 1. These promotions reflect the firm’s continued commitment to recognizing outstanding legal skill, leadership, and dedication to client service.

Netkovick joined Bacon Wilson in April 2022 and has quickly become an integral member of the firm. His practice focuses on employment law and general litigation. He brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial litigation and employment law, advising and representing clients across a wide range of industries.

“Tim brings a wealth of experience, sound judgment, and a client-focused approach to every matter he handles,” Managing Shareholder Jeffrey Fialky said. “His depth of knowledge in employment and commercial litigation, combined with his professionalism and leadership, make him a tremendous asset to our firm and our clients.”

Netkovick earned his bachelor’s degree from American International College and his juris doctorate from Western New England University School of Law. He regularly represents clients before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the districts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont.

O’Hara joined Bacon Wilson in the summer of 2015 as an intern in the litigation department, working with Shareholder Mark Tanner. He later participated in the firm’s law clerk program during the 2016-17 academic year. Following a clerkship with Justice Jeffrey Kinder of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, O’Hara returned to Bacon Wilson and began his career as an associate attorney in September 2018.

“Ryan’s evolution within the firm — starting as a law clerk, then as an associate attorney, and now as a shareholder — has been exceptional,” Fialky said. “His strong analytical skills, work ethic, litigation tenacity, and commitment to achieving results for clients exemplify the values of Bacon Wilson. O’Hara received his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Tufts University and his juris doctorate summa cum laude from Western New England University School of Law. His practice encompasses significant experience in contract and business matters, land use litigation, personal injury and accident cases, as well as appellate matters. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Federal District of Massachusetts, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and currently serves on the board of directors for the Hampden County Bar Assoc.

Jeffrey Fialky

SPRINGFIELD — At Thursday evening’s 19th annual 40 Under Forty event at the MassMutual Center, BusinessWest announced that Jeffrey Fialky, managing shareholder at Bacon Wilson, P.C., is this year’s Alumni Achievement Award (AAA) winner.

Fialky broke through on his fourth time as a finalist for the AAA, which, since 2015, has been awarded annually to the past 40 Under Forty winner who, in the minds of an independent panel of judges, has most impressively built on his or her record of professional achievement and service to the community since being named a 40 Under Forty honoree.

Fialky was an associate with Bacon Wilson when he was voted to the 40 Under Forty class of 2008. Today, as managing shareholder, he is leading the firm through a time of change and challenge in that sector while also continuing to give back to community organizations and causes ranging from Springfield Museums to the Springfield Regional Chamber — which, just last week, awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award.

The other four finalists for this year’s AAA award were Amelia Holstrom (40 Under Forty class of 2015), partner at Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C.; James Krupienski (class of 2010), partner at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C.; Ryan McCollum (class of 2012), owner of RMC Strategies; and Orlando Ramos (class of 2014), state representative for the 9th Hampden District. The Alumni Achievement Award was presented by Health New England.

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that Jacquelyn Matthews, Queenie Miao, and Sadie Woolstenhulme have been accepted into the firm’s law clerk program for the 2025-26 school year.

Bacon Wilson created the clerkship program more than 40 years ago to allow law school students to gain experience and mentoring in the legal profession. The clerks are an integral part of the firm and participate in various firm events during their time at Bacon Wilson.

Jacquelyn Matthews

Matthews is currently pursuing her juris doctorate at Western New England University School of Law, with an expected graduation date of May 2026. Jacquelyn earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations and Arabic, along with minors in science, technology, environment, and public policy from Michigan State University in 2023. In addition to her role as a law clerk at Bacon Wilson, she is an active member of the Western New England Global Justice Clinic.

Before joining the firm, Matthews participated in a summer associate program in Connecticut, served as president of Empowering Women in Law in East Lansing, Mich., and founded the International Law Students Assoc. at Western New England. She has a strong interest in corporate law and trusts and estates. Fluent in Arabic and Spanish, she spent eight weeks in Amman, Jordan in 2021 as part of the Jordan Language Academy Study Abroad Program, where she enhanced her proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking three Arabic dialects.

Queenie Miao

Miao is currently a juris doctor candidate at the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, with graduation expected in May 2026. She will be completing her final year of law school remotely while working at Bacon Wilson. She earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy, with a minor in legal studies, from Brandeis University in 2021.

Before joining the firm, Miao served as a teaching assistant for the University of Illinois Legal Writing and Introduction to Advocacy courses. Additionally, she gained experience as a law clerk at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and as a student attorney at the University of Illinois Immigration Clinic. A passionate animal welfare advocate, she also volunteered at a rescue ranch in Champaign, Ill. She has a strong interest in tax law. Originally from Nanjing, the historic capital of China, she is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Sadie Woolstenhulme

Woolstenhulme is currently a juris doctor candidate at Western New England University School of Law, with plans to graduate in May 2026. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies with a minor in religious studies from Utah State University, earned in 2020. She is actively involved in law school life as a member of the Student Bar Assoc. judicial advisory board, the Public Interest Assoc., and the Women’s Law Assoc. She also serves as a senior staff member of the Western New England Law Review and a teaching assistant in criminal law, constitutional law, and contracts.

Before joining Bacon Wilson, Woolstenhulme spent several years at the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office and most recently interned for a Massachusetts Trial Court judge. She is particularly interested in litigation and family law, areas that allow her to connect directly and meaningfully with clients.

Ago is currently a candidate for a juris doctor degree at Western New England University School of Law, expecting to graduate in May 2025. She earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in three years from Montclair State University in 2022, majoring in political science with double minors in social work and global security diplomacy. Before joining Bacon Wilson, Ago completed a family-law defense practicum through Western New England and worked as a family law legal assistant for the current Superior Court judge in New Jersey. She has a keen interest in family law, is an active member of the Family Law Assoc. at Western New England, and serves as president and co-founder of the Middle Eastern Law Assoc. Originally from Albania, she is fluent in Albanian. She is looking forward to exploring various other practice areas during her time at Bacon Wilson.

Benjamin Keogh

Keogh is currently a candidate for both a juris doctor degree and an MBA at Western New England University, with both degrees expected in May 2025. He earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Western New England University in 2022, majoring in criminal justice and minoring in accounting. Before joining Bacon Wilson, Keogh worked as a private investigator, handling a variety of cases in Vermont, Connecticut, and Central and Western Mass. He also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau in Northern Vermont. With a strong interest in transactional law, he is eager to explore the diverse legal practice areas that Bacon Wilson offers.

Gary DeYoung

DeYoung is currently a candidate for a juris doctor degree at Suffolk University Law School, expecting to graduate in May 2025. He holds a doctor of philosophy degree in applied human development and a master of arts degree from Boston University, and he earned his bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from UMass Amherst. Before joining Bacon Wilson, DeYoung gained experience as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court in Springfield and served as chair of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board in Chelsea. He is keen to further develop his expertise in land use, municipal law, and real estate, and looks forward to the opportunities ahead at Bacon Wilson.

Sarah Zaino

Zaino is currently a candidate for a juris doctor degree at Western New England University School of Law, expecting to graduate in May 2025. She earned her bachelor of science degree, cum laude, from Marist College in 2022, where she also obtained her paralegal certificate. Before joining Bacon Wilson, Zaino worked as a temporary assistant clerk for the Connecticut Supreme Appellate Courts and interned with Corbally, Gartland, and Rappleyea in Millbrook, N.Y. She founded the Italian American Law Society during her second year of law school and was also a part of the real-estate practicum this past spring. She has interests in transactional law, estate planning, and corporate law, and is eager to gain practical experience in the legal field during her clerkship at Bacon Wilson.

David Lavenburg

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that David Lavenburg, one of the firm’s attorneys, has been promoted to shareholder. Since joining the firm in November 2020, he has been an integral part of the firm, focusing on loan recovery, loan workouts, collection matters, restructuring, debt repayments, and bankruptcy.

“Dave is an exceptional attorney and person, and on behalf of all shareholders, we are thrilled for Dave to be our partner,” Managing Shareholder Jeffrey Fialky said.

Lavenburg received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and his juris doctorate from Capital University of Law School in Columbus, Ohio. With more than 32 years of litigation experience, he chairs the creditor’s rights, collections, and bankruptcy practice group at Bacon Wilson. He is admitted to practice in both the Massachusetts and Connecticut state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.

In the firm’s probate department, Lavenburg supports litigation needs in cases involving contests, breaches of fiduciary duty, lack of capacity, and undue influence claims. In the commercial and corporate department, he represents the firm’s clients in partnership disputes, commercial litigation, general business litigation, and commercial lease disputes. He has also been chairman of the Longmeadow Zoning Board of Appeals since 2006.

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that attorney Alexander Pattacini has joined the firm. He is a member of the firm’s Estate Planning and Elder Law department.

Pattacini earned his juris doctorate with a concentration in transactional law from Western New England University School of Law, where he served as a clinician in the Small Business Clinic. He previously earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Prior to joining Bacon Wilson, P.C., he interned with the Connecticut Department of Education Division of Legal Affairs, and served as legal counsel for the Connecticut House Majority Leader’s Office. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Assoc. as well as the Education Law Assoc. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and will be working in all Bacon Wilson office locations, but primarily in Springfield.

“Alex is such a great addition to our growing Estate Planning and Elder Law practice groups and will add depth for years to come,” Managing Shareholder Kenneth Albano said.

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson P.C. announced that three new associate attorneys have joined the firm.

Attorney Britaney Guzman-Bailey is a member of Bacon Wilson’s Domestic Relations and Family Law practice group. She earned her juris doctor degree magna cum laude at Western New England University School of Law, where she served as a production editor of the Western New England Law Review, and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.

Prior to joining Bacon Wilson, Guzman-Bailey served as a judicial law clerk at the Connecticut Superior Court. She received the CALI Award for Gender and the Law in 2021, the CALI Award for International Business Transactions in 2021, and the CALI Award for Family Law in 2020. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Assoc., the Hampden County Bar Assoc., and the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Assoc. She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and will be working from Bacon Wilson’s Springfield location.

Attorney Sarah Federation is a member of Bacon Wilson’s Business and Corporate Law practice group. She earned her juris doctor degree cum laude from Western New England University School of Law in 2022 and earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. in 2019.

Federation’s Bacon Wilson career originally began as a law clerk in May 2021. She received the CALI Award for Bioethics and Law in 2021 and was named Best Plaintiff’s Advocate in 2020. She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and was officially sworn into the Massachusetts Bar Assoc. on Nov. 15. She will be working from Bacon Wilson’s Springfield location.

Attorney Joshua Goldstein is a member of Bacon Wilson’s Business and Corporate Law practice group and the Banking and Finance practice group. He earned his juris doctor degree cum laude from Western New England University School of Law in 2022 and his bachelor’s degree in business economics from the State University of New York, Oneonta in 2018.

Goldstein completed pro bono activity with the City of Homes Project under the direction of retired Judge Dina Fein. He also is a member of the Hampden County Bar Assoc. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and was officially sworn into the Massachusetts Bar Assoc. on Nov. 15. He will be working from Bacon Wilson’s Springfield location.

SPRINGFIELD — Bacon Wilson, P.C. announced that Tyler Humphrey, Viktoriia Protsyk, and Troy Tanzer have joined the firm as associate attorneys.

Bacon Wilson’s managing partner, Kenneth Albano, welcomed the new associates, noting that “attorney Tyler Humphrey joins us with significant experience in business and finance, while attorneys Viktoriia Protsyk and Troy Tanzer have both been working with the firm as law clerks for some time. Humphrey is a member of Bacon Wilson’s business, corporate, and finance team. He has significant experience in business matters, including real-estate transactions, business formations, and dispute resolution. He has been practicing law for seven years, having earned his juris doctor degree cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2015, and a bachelor’s degree from Westfield State College in 2012. He was named to the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list for 2021-22 in the area of banking and finance law.

Protsyk is a member of Bacon Wilson’s estate planning and probate team. She is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and will sit for the Florida bar exam in February 2022. Fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian, she received her juris doctor degree cum laude in 2021 from Western New England University School of Law, and earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Central Connecticut State University in 2018.

Tanzer is a member of Bacon Wilson’s land use, zoning, and development team. He earned his juris doctor degree in 2021 from Western New England University (WNE) School of Law, having also earned an MBA the same year from WNE. He received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from WNE in 2017. He volunteers his time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic in Springfield, providing assistance with tax-return preparation and electronic filing. He works primarily from Bacon Wilson’s Amherst location.
