NORTHAMPTONOrganizers of the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament announced that its 17th annual event raised $160,000 in support of brain cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Founded in memory of Tom Cosenzi, who lost a courageous battle with glioblastoma, the tournament has become a cornerstone community event, honoring his legacy while funding groundbreaking research. To date, the tournament has raised more than $1.9 million in support of Dr. Patrick Wen and his team at Dana-Farber.

The success of the 17th annual tournament was made possible through the support of sponsors, partners, and participants, including presenting sponsor Teph Seal and platinum sponsor General Contracting Solutions.

“This tournament means so much to our family and our company,” said Carla Cosenzi, co-owner of TommyCar Auto Group and founder of the tournament. “At TommyCar, community is at the heart of everything we do. Building on last year’s success, the 18th annual Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Sept. 21 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow. Organizers announced that General Contracting Solutionswill serve as the 2026 presenting sponsor, helping to lead another year of impact for glioblastoma research.

NORTHAMPTON — The 16th annual Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament, held on Sept. 26, 2024 at Twin Hills Country Club, exceeded all expectations by raising $176,500, the largest amount ever raised in the tournament’s 16-year history. This brings the total raised over the years to more than $1.8 million, all in support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s neuro-oncology research.

NORTHAMPTON — The Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament celebrated its 15th annual golf tournament on Sept. 26, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing support for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, as this year’s tournament raised a record-breaking $160,000.

For more than a decade and a half, the charity golf tournament has stood as a beacon of hope in the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s fundraising initiatives.

Carla Cosenzi, president and co-owner of TommyCar Auto Group, expressed her gratitude, saying, “we’re deeply thankful for the incredible support at this year’s golf tournament. NORTHAMPTON — The fifteenth annual Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.

Tom Cosenzi, successful businessman and father of four, succumbed to brain cancer in 2009 at the early age of 52. His vision was that no other family would experience the pain that he and his family endured. It was his wish that his family and friends continue to raise money for neuro-oncology research so the burden of cancer can be eliminated for patients and their families. In his memory, the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament was formed.

All money raised will go directly to benefit the work of Dr. Patrick Wen and his team of researchers in the Center for Neuro-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in search for a cure. The tournament has raised more than $1,458,135 in its 14-year history.
