United Way of Pioneer Valley to Share Nonprofit Resource Center Plans, Recruit Experts

SPRINGFIELD — United Way of Pioneer Valley (UWPV) will share rollout plans for a new Nonprofit Resource Center and recruit professionals to join its roster of experts at the next Leader’s Lounge, held Thursday, Aug. 13 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at 1441 Main St., Springfield. The event is open to all, and no registration is required.

The Nonprofit Resource Center is designed to be the front door for anyone doing nonprofit work in Western Mass. Launching as an expansion of UWPV’s Community Leadership Connect program, the center connects nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteer leaders with vetted expert practitioners who can help strengthen their organizations, from governance to daily operations.

The center is set for a soft launch in September, when it will begin accepting and processing its first engagements. At the Aug. 13 Leader’s Lounge, UWPV staff will walk through how the center will work, who it serves, and what to expect as the rollout continues.

UWPV is also recruiting content experts to join the center’s roster ahead of the September opening. These are compensated, project-based assignments in areas including board development, marketing and communications, finance, executive coaching, fundraising, and human resources.

Nonprofits receive this expertise at no cost, made possible through underwriting from MassMutual. Professionals interested in becoming an expert are encouraged to attend the Aug. 13 session to learn more about the application process.
